Back in Charlotte for Caron's wedding. The dress is fitted, the shoes are bought, the schedule is made. I'm in 2 of the 3 courses I had originally intended (statistics & american government) and the books have been purchased from Amazon.
Next steps: job, loans, and becoming a resident of Washington state.
I assumed food service would be the easiest job to start, but apparently out here everyone needs a food handler's license. I can at least ask at Starbucks, because training would be minimal/easy and I might be able to swing a shift supervisor position and get extra money. Otherwise I have to look for part-time temporary work in an office, and in my experience that is very hit-or-miss in terms of dependency.
Mom is getting her new house set up, which includes a large flat screen TV, high-speed internet, a hot tub and a golf cart. I will be spending my entire winter break here, methinks.
