(no subject)
So I'm still not employed. I think it'll take me way too long to get the FBI to finish up my background / fingerprint check to have time to get deployed by FEMA this summer, and I can't wait that long to work anyway. It'll have to be for next year. I wish I'd considered it during school and been able to do the paperwork, but they didn't start their hiring frenzy until after the floods. Ah well.
I wish I could have just spent the last month enjoying the summer and doing fun/cool stuff. Instead I've been so worked up and freaking out about applying to jobs (pretty much my least favorite thing) that I have just been desperately distracting myself from thinking about it.
I felt better about sending in another application yesterday so last night Joni and I took Lulu to Discovery Park and sat in an open field watching the sunset behind the Olympic Mountains. I worked on the wool gloves I started knitting for Jenny at Christmas. She might get them as a present in August - inappropriate timing FTW.
It's been gorgeous here for weeks, 70s/80s, no rain, clear blue skies. It's cool and overcast today for the first time in forever. I love it. I don't know what's wrong with me, but this is my absolute favorite kind of weather.
