You know it's a bad sign when it's after 2100 and you're still in the office. I just saw a grad student couple and their 2-year old son. He was riding his big wheel down my office hallway. Dear Lord, I hope that when I have kids I never subject them to exercise inside my office building. This is a clear sign that I need to graduate and get the hell out of school.
Few things:
- Priest collapsed in the middle of mass on Sunday. Twice. Once we tried to get him up (I was serving as a Eucharistic minister), but after taking 2 steps, he fell again. I was worried he was having another stroke. We called 911, but he was able to finish mass (?!?!) before they showed up. He's in my prayers.
- I have had phone interviews in CT and NJ. Still nothing in MA, but I'm hanging on to hope. I plan to graduate in November.
- I ran the
Great Raleigh Road Race 5 miler. My time (41:57; 08:23/mile) was much better than I expected, seeing how my training consisted of 3 or 4 days right before the race.
- My men's doubles team, intermediate level, is 5-2 in our league. The heat has been brutal, which affects my volleyball abilities. It also doesn't help that I injured my right thumb playing softball, so I haven't been able to spike the ball for a month now.
- Speaking of sports, dodgeball starts up in a month or two. I'm looking forward to playing 1 or 2 games before officially retiring from the City of Raleigh league as the undefeated champions.
- I saw my Goddaughter on Sunday at brunch. She's cute as a button! I haven't seen her for a few months, and she has grown a lot. She's only 7 months old, but I feel like I've already missed so much since I saw her 4 months ago. I need to make the trip to Durham more often, especially before I leave NC.
Alright, that's all for now. I have to go back to the lab and manage not to spill any chemicals on myself.
