Hallowe'en

I love fancy dress, and Hallowe'en is one of my favourite times of the year. The problem with Hallowe'en is that your costume should be scary or Hallowe'en related. I like to wear costumes that are slightly quirky or unusual, I hate those pre-packaged 'one size fits all' costumes you get from fancy dress shops because they look cheap and tacky and they never fit.

I really struggled to think of a costume this year. At first I was going to go in S&M gear, but that was too expensive, so then I decided to go as Father Christmas (with a Hallowe'en twist...), but I couldn't find a Santa costume anywhere that wasn't cheap and tacky looking. I eventually settled on this...

Cheap and simple, but it was certainly effective. I got so much attention in the Krazyhouse and G-Bar. It was a bugger to dance in, but I didn't care and gave it my all...

I had such a good night. Sean had come up from London. I'd not seen him since we finished uni, it was so good to catch up with him.

I also dressed up on the Thursday. It was StreetFeet's Hallowe'en show. All the kids were dressed up, so me and Jenny (the two Youth Workers) thought we would get into the spirit of things and dress up too...

TWO HOURS I spent in the shower trying to scrub that blood off my face. I didn't want to go into town the next morning with a pink stain all around my mouth. My costume got a good reception on the Thursday too.

other stuff, night out
