Whistonbury

Friday I met up with Jayne in the afternoon and we went for some drinks around St. Helens before heading back to hers for a DVD night.

We were sat in Chicago Rock and Jayne's step-brother Danny appeared from nowhere and asked to join us. This was slightly awkward because Jayne and Danny do not talk any more and haven't spoken in years. Danny used to be one of my closest friends, but we've drifted apart over the years, but it was nice to have a quick catch up despite the awkwardness of the situation. Jayne's friend Charleen also joined us.
We then went to the Wetherspoons where Jayne works to figure out if the new guy was gay or not. He was cute as hell but I determined he was straight. We'd had quite a few drinks throughout the afternoon, consisting of many vodkas and a couple of bottles of Rosé wine.

Me and Jayne then went to Tesco and stocked up on snacks and drink. We then headed back to hers and ordered an Indian. We watched John Tucker Must Die and Shrek The Third1 while munching on our curries and snacks. I really enjoyed both movies. Although I've read quite a few bad reviews of Shrek The Third I thought it was really fun and really enjoyed it.

I was going to stay the night at Jayne's, but I'd had an argument with my mum earlier in the day2 so decided to get a taxi home because I had to be up an hour earlier in the morning to get to work. I got home at about 2:30 and was up at 7:00. I tossed and turned all night but I could not fall to sleep at all. I stayed awake until my alarm eventually went off at 7:00 and I got out of bed.

Yesterday was a busy day for work. I was in the museum from 9:00 til 17:00, and then I was working for the arts service at Whistonbury3 from 17:30 til 22:00. That's 13 hours of working and gave me just half an hour to rush home to get changed after working at the museum, and get myself to Stadt Moers Park in Whiston. I was working on a craft stall making snakes out of plastic carrier bags, promoting the need to recycle. I was very, very busy and didn't have time for a rest. I worked non-stop. I was knackered by the end, and I was in a bad mood from being stood in a muddy field in the pissing rain. There were loads of people there whom I knew, mostly children and parents from youth groups, and also James came to cure his curiosity about what Whistonbury was (although he came late just as we were tidying up).
I don't know how I became so popular, but I was getting phone call, after phone call, after phone call. I had 12 missed calls from 7 different people. Each one of them wanting me to meet up with them in the evening. Rachael, Linsey and Shireen were out in Widnes and wanted me to meet up with them. Jack was also out. And Kirsty was wanting me to go round to hers for some drinkage with friends. I really didn't feel like doing anything after working 13 hours and having little sleep the night before, but I dragged myself into the shower, got changed, and decided to go to Kirsty's because she only lives two minutes down the road.

I had such a laugh in Kirsty's. There was me, Kirsty, Tommy and Neil (niggsy). We all got drunk and had such a good laugh. I've not had any sleep though, and I'm now just waiting to go to work at the museum at 13:30. I'm so tired, I've now been awake for almost 48 hours and have endured a 13 hour work shift involving hundreds of children. I'm whacked!

1Yes, we watched a Pirate Copy! I am strongly against pirated movies and was disappointed that I agreed to watch one. But I have promised myself that I will still go and watch the movie again at the cinema.

2Me and my mum had a big argument over a dinner plate, two mugs, a knife and fork, and a saucepan. That's how pathetic our arguments are becoming. I woke up late and was running late to meet Jayne, so I didn't have time to wash my dishes after my dinner. I phoned my mum to explain and apologise because I knew she would kick off over it. She started kicking off at me down the phone so I hung up on her, it was either that or me getting angry and shouting back which would have caused more tension. So my mum said she wouldn't give me a lift to work in the morning. I didn't do the dishes because I didn't want to be late for Jayne and I'm stuborn.

3Whistonbury is Knowsley's version of Glastonbury but much, much, much smaller and shitter. It's held in Whiston (hence the name). There were barbecues, live music, performing arts, and craft activities.
