I think I found my favourite place in Sydney today. :)
I drove over to Botany cemetary (or using its proper name: the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park) this afternoon to visit Granda, and it was such a beautiful day that I decided to wander around a bit. And then I found a little pavillion at what I think might be the highest point of the cemetary. The view is beautiful there, looking out over the remainder of the graves straight to Botany Bay. You can just see Bare Island, on the other side of La Perouse.
It was so peaceful up there. Though possibly some people would disagree with me about the peace and quiet. The memorial park is right next to Port Botany, so you can still hear the sounds of cranes moving containers, and aeroplanes flying overhead, and so forth. But that didn't bother me, it was just the normal background noise that I'm used to.
I ended up sitting there reading and just thinking for about two hours. I think it's going to be my new thinking spot. I expect I'll be there quick a bit from now on, now the days are getting longer, lol.
Though I'll have to remember to take an antihistemine next time before I go, lol. My hayfever was going crazy today, oops.
Will have to remember to take a picture and show you guys :)
