54. Howl and Other Poems, Allen Ginsberg
I love these poems. The images that Ginsberg creates are so powerful: "I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness", "angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection". And those are only just within the first few lines of Howl. Fantastic.
55. Wide Sargasso Sea, Jean Rhys
Fantastic book. The words, the atmosphere created, everything. I don't really like Jane Eyre at all. But Rhys wrote these characters and this prequel about Mr Rochester's first wife so well that it actually makes me want to read Jane Eyre again. Though I prefer Rhys's Rochester to Bronte's Rochester. It's books like this that make me wish I could write half as well.
56. Marked, P.C. and Kristin Cast
Ehhh... It was good enough to keep me interested, but. Kind of like Vampire Academy, can't decide if I can be bothered to read the rest of the series.
57. Wicked, Gregory Maguire
WOW. This book just blew me away. Just, wow. I can't wait to read more by Maguire. He's fantastic.
58. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams
After wanting to read this for years I finally have. And it was hilarious. Kept me amused the whole way through. Now I understand why my dad always raved about it :D
And don't forget: The meaning of life is 42 *winks*
