Indy started playing up on Wednesday after I had lunch with Kyra. I got to the intersection to head home and the engine just cut out, turned itself off. The worst possible place to do it as well, it's a dangerous intersection what with all the huge trucks.
She did the same thing a couple of times as I drove to the mechanic. I got Bill to take a look at it and he took Indy for a quick run and there didn't seem to be anything wrong, except maybe a bit of dirty fuel. When I left the mechanic Indy seemed to be driving fine again so I thought it must have been just a little bit of dirty fuel.
Of course I was wrong.
I had to quickly learn what exactly was going on. If I ever let the rev meter drop to 0 the engine turned off. So whenever I was stopped at the lights I dropped into neutral so that I could rev the engine and have it already revved when I dropped back into drive. As the tank of petrol got lower I happened a bit less. The tank sitting on empty now, so I'll probably have to fill it up tomorrow.
I'm hoping that once the tank completely empties itself of the bad fuel Indy will drive fine again. Because if she doesn't I'll have to take her back down to the mechanic again and hope that they can fix whatever the problem is.
While I'm talking about car issues I went to the NRMA to get Indy insured. And you want to know how much it costs? $1000 bucks a year. *is pissed* I am not happy about it. But unfortunately I have no choice but to pay it. Because I can't not have the car insured, especially should it happen that either me or Michael are in a car accident again. Not happy about the price though.
*sigh*
