A lucky break

So time for an update about what's been happening in my world lately.

I handed in that Art History essay last Tuesday (a full week late). We got them back today, and I got 66% and that was after having three marks taken off presumably for it being late. I don't get it though - surely after it being a week late I should only get 0?

*shrugs* Whatever. I wasn't about to complain. I've got another Art History essay due next Tuesday and the question I've picked is all about computer art, the internet, and email communication etc, and how it relates to culture and the aesthetic. Should be interesting. Plus it's something I can bullshit about. Just need to find a couple of books about some artists who work with digital technologies to compare with my theories and ideas and I'll be set.

On Wednesday when I arrived at sculpture, I unhappily discovered that my sculpture was meant to be finished by tomorrow. It is not. I have done all I can to get it finished, but it's still not done. *sighs* I'm going to get up early in the morning, and hopefully I'll be able to get as much done as possible before I get the bus but I don't really have much hope. *crosses fingers* But then again you never know.

Onto more pleasant occurrences. Went to two concerts over the weekend :) Snow Patrol with Michaela on Friday night and then the Silverchair/Powderfinger one on Saturday night with Michael. They were both awesome, had heaps of fun. Ended up knowing four songs of Snow Patrol's, one more than I had originally thought I did. Bought a nice balc t-shirt at the Snow Patrol concert, with a blue snowflake on the front with the words Snow Patrol.

Me and Michael had fun at the Silverchair and Powderfinger concert. We both had three beers in about an hour and a half which made me a little light-headed, lol. I could feel that my lips had gone numb which definitely meant that I was tipsy, haha. Silverchair's last song for their set was an old one, "Freak", and they got the crowd to sing by themselves. Gotta say, very, very cool to hear an entire audience of people belting out the lyrics "Body and soul, I'm a freak, I'm a freak. Body and soul, I'm a freak, I'm a FREAK!" And Powderfinger played all the songs of theirs that I like so it was all good. And then at the end Silverchair came back on with Powderfinger and together they sung "Substitute" by The Who.

All in all, both nights were great.

And yeah, that's what's been happening over the past week :)

friends, concerts, michael, uni
