Happiness. Odd. Brilliant. Daft. Progress.

1. HAPPINESS: So my birthday was last Friday (and thanks to those who sent me birthday wishes :) I very much appreciated them). Overall it was pretty good. It wasn't exciting or anything, it was just nice. Aside from the heat that is. Marc woke me up at 8:00am to wish me happy birthday. Amusing conversation with me half asleep and Marc busy driving. I went up to Maroubra and I saw Matt working at Macdonalds before I went to Centrelink. Didn't end up staying there though. I was meant to apply for Youth Allowance but I just could not be bothered. So I left and headed over to the uni library to get some books for my art history essay. (Yeah, wonderful way to spend my birthday, at Centrelink and doing research). Wasn't there for very long. Just found some books and got out of there.

Didn't do anything huge on the Friday. Just had dinner and cake at mum's with family. Presents run-down included: Swan Lake from Dad, $150, a small book on Monet and a 9 CD collection from Mum (apparently the cds arrived the other day, can't wait to get a look at them), $50 and pair of earrings from Nan, a book chronicling music through the years from Michael, and $50 and an earring holder off Nan and Pop. Oh and Nat and Jai gave me a pair of earrings, and Caley gave me a sonic screwdriver (it's a light-up pen :D) and the official Serenity companion book/guide thingy.

2. ODD: Jai and I only really had one word for Saturday night as a whole. Odd. A few of us went out for my birthday. Me and Jai started off having dinner together at the cafe place on the corner of George Street, which was pretty good. Lasagne for $15 and it tasted very nice too. Jai and I were running a bit late, but then that's nothing unusual. We then headed into Pavilion where we met up with Anna C, Tash and Caley. We were only there for about an hour in which time I had five vodkas mixed with various things (lime, two orange, two lemonade), none of which I paid (yay for birthday drinks!), some guy that Anna had hooked up with the week before hit on all of us, and I saw a guy from high school who had been in the year above us. And he recognised me. What is it with me always being the recognisable one these days? After that we left.

Anna and Tash headed to Star Bar while Jaime, Caley and I walked all the way down to Sussex Street to go to Retro. It wasn't that great unfortunately. I liked the atmosphere and the seats and the fact that there was a clock. Oh and that they were giving out 2 for 1 drink cards. But it wasn't worth the $20 cover charge. The three of us got talking with a group of 28/29 year olds before they headed somewhere else. I got Jaime to drink beer with me(the first one was because I owed her one from the OWeek party and the second was with the 2 for 1 card). The first one she spilled half of it all over the table and down my legs, lol. The second one she didn't finish and ended up giving to me. So I scored 2 and a half beers there (which made 7 and a half drinks total for the night, pretty good of me to not go overboard). We danced for a little while before getting sick of it and leaving.

Caley left after that, after we'd walked back up to George Street, I think it was. Jai and I decided to head down to Orient since we hadn't been there in so long. Didn't end up making it, lol. We get sidetracked by a guy with a barbeque who was selling sausage sandwiches. So we sat down on a brick wall and shared one and just watched people walking by. A couple of guys came and sat next to us and started talking, then a bit later they disappeared. Jai rang one of her guys Phil, so him and a couple of his mates came and met us. We were going to go to Jackson's but they wouldn't let us in since it was apparently some private party. So we all just kept walking up George St, Jai and Phil pashing the whole way.

After awhile the guys left in a cab, while me and Jai kept walking, which was when we had our conversation about how odd the whole night had been. We eventually got in a cab and I got home at 4.

3. BRILLIANT: I am absolutely brilliant. Two essays, both completed within three hours each. I did all the research and wrote my art history essay on Monday night (yes it was due Tuesday). Granted it was only an 800 word essay, which made it easier to get through quickly. Once I actually got writing that was. I've always hated trying to come up with introductions, so that always seems to take forever. I ended up going over the word limit by 100 words and it really should've had more quotes, but oh well *shrugs* It was finished and that was all I cared about.

And then I had an english essay due yesterday which I only started at 1:00am the day it was due. Heh. I worked steadily until 2:30am then went to sleep. Had my alarm set, so I woke up again at quarter past seven and then started writing again at 7:30am. Had it finished and printed by 9:00am. Another three hour job total (and this one ended up being 1251 words). Was very happy with myself. Though I am slipping so very, very quickly into my old, bad habits. I really should make a good effort to correct that. Hmm.

4. DAFT: Twice this week I have been an idiot with the buses going to uni. Wait, make that three times. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On Monday, I was dozing and as such missed my stop to get off. I got off at the next one on Oxford Street which really didn't make that much difference, but even so it still added about another five minutes walking time to get to COFA. Then on Tuesday I got the wrong bus. I was coming from Eastgardens since me and mum had gotten a cab there as she was going shopping. The 392 goes past there to Taylor Square so I thought I'd be sweet. Just as I got to the bus stop an X92 (the express version of the 392) pulled in so I thought, yeah this will take the same route but leave out a few stops.

I, however, was wrong. The X92 does not go past Taylor Square. It goes through the Eastern Distributor and all through the city before ending at Liverpool St. So I had to get another bus up Oxford St. I arrived at COFA just in time for my lecture. As for Wednesday, well that was just me being late. I was simply running late and so when I got off the bus at the Kensington campus it was dead on 10:00, when my tutorial started. Of course that would've been fine if my classroom was in Lower Campus. Unfortunately it's not, and it takes 10-15 minutes to walk from Anzac Pde to Upper Campus, which resulted in me being 15 minutes late for my tute. *sigh*

5. PROGRESS: Yes! I am finally getting somewhere with Nineteen-Seventeen. I wrote 700 words today (and will hopefully write another 300 before I go to sleep). The first scene is finished, the second scene is started, third scene nothing yet, and the final scene is very close to being finished. It just needs a little more at the very start of that scene. And I also started a Doctor/Rose music vid last night. Why, I don't know. I just got sucked into it somehow, lol.
