Of racing and betting...
Today is Melbourne Cup Day (which by the way so should be a national holiday, rather than just a public holiday in Victoria).
And I've got money on a heap of different horses:
Yeats - $20 to win
Art Success - $2 each way
Zipping - $5 to win
Maybe Better - $3 to win
Short Pause - $1 each way
Plus I'm in both the $5 and $2 sweep at work. So that's a total of $41 I've bet. And also a total of $41 I've probably lost. *shrugs* Oh well, still fun. Besides it's the Melbourne Cup. You've gotta splurge on it :) Especially when it's my only big gambling day a year.
So we'll see how I go :)
ETA: Time is 3:23pm. The race is over and Delta Blues came first, Pop Rock second and Maybe Better third. And guess who had Delta Blues in the $5 sweep? ME! I won $80! Well okay since I spent $40 betting it's only a profit of $40 but even so. Woohoo!!
