Excellent one-shot. I love how Rebecca compares herself to Billy and grudgingly draws strength from him. I also like the comparison between how she is around Chris versus how she is around Billy. :)

I have to admit, I'm kind of in love with this. Rebecca is my favorite RE character and I think you managed to hit a lot of the points why in this fic. The characterization feels spot on, I loved the way she's portrayed as competent and yet still worn down by the events of the past two days. It's a nice change from the stereotypes that she's either useless or somehow uber at everything.

She didn’t always need saving, she didn’t leave the dirty work to the men - and screw the knight-in-shining-armor cliché.I have so much warmth and affection for this line. It was the one thing that bugged me about the Umbrella Chronicles, that while yeah, Billy did save her, she saved him too. That part getting left out of UC kind of made me sad. It was both of them working together that got them out of the facility ( ... )

Ahaha YOU KNOW, I actually originally wrote this because I was a bit irked at how Umbrella Chronicles portrayed her; she was just ALWAYS. CRYING. In the RE1 sequences, and I was immediately like, "......Okay, no. NO, I must justify this." And I agree, while I certainly don't mind Billy saving her as much as he did, it really was a mutual effort and partnership, and UC kinda neglected that a bit ( ... )

You have no idea how comforting that is, actually. I know so many people who just squeal over UC and while I loved it muchly, I still can't help but think of it as that game where Rebecca cries and falls down a lot. XD; (Though they did get rid of the centurion fight, man how I hated that. They get a pass for that.)

Thank you for sharing this story! I'm just thrilled to find RE fic that I enjoy. The only place I seem to find a lot of it is on FFN and most of that seems to be self-inserts or filled with OCs. Which is not what I liked about the games. XD; It is what it is.
