aw, thanks! :) I've now got it as my facebook profile pic!
The ones we were on weren't too tiny and windy, but that's because we were on a coach. I remember smaller roads in places like the Lakes District and in Wales. I imagine they are there, but I guess we mostly stuck to the bigger roads, where you still come across awesome scenery like the above.
A motorbike trip there would be incredible! Lots of people were doing it.
I'm in Ediburgh for 10 days but I'm going to do some day trips/Haggis tours I think to see more of the country after hte Festival finishes. Which tour did you do?
ooh how exciting! I want to come with you! How cool that you'll be there for the festival. I think I might have to try and do that for next year. :D
I did a three day "Skye High" tour. You do spend quite a bit of time on the bus but with plenty of photo stops and if the weather is nice you go on some nice walks. I would have liked to do the 5 day version, but it was booked out for the time that I was there. I imagine it would have fewer people on the bus and would be a slightly more relaxed pace.
But yeah I've been on two Haggis trips now and I totally loved both. :)
There's a rival company called mac backpackers or soemthing. One day their bus picked us up while they fixed something with our bus and the driver/guide was a hot guy in a kilt and he was just as funny and knowledgable as the haggis people, so they might be worth checking out too.
Yeah the scenery was stunningly gorgeous. And I managed to get there during a 'heat wave'. Tops of 24 degrees!
I even got sunburnt... in the Scottish Highlands! Craziness.
Apparently you can only see the top of Ben Nevis for about 40 days a year. It was crystal clear on the day we drove past. Exceptional weather! So lucky! I was imagining it being all drizzly and misty. Much better photos with the sun out. :)
