I felt like I should probably post something. This something should obviously be Reborn-- it's become a significantly lower priority, but this is less because I have lost interest and more because it used to be like EVERYTHING I THOUGHT ABOUT and now that is probably Fire Emblem or Whistle!.
(
cut for rant )
I never really understood that whole Japanese perspective on relationships. This is quite possible because I'm really American. Tsuna is (slowly) growing a spine (and the stem cell research for that is highly upgraded due to Byakuran's parallel world knowledge), but sometimes I wonder if he really loves her or if she's simply a convenient fantasy (perhaps now more than ever because she's not involved in the violence of the mafia). He needs more uncontrollable dieing will rampages *sigh* (YES, TSUNA, YOU ARE THAT GIRLY. Kyohei is the househusband extraordinaire, but I think that would make him more independent in this scenario as he had to take care of a lot of things himself and he didn't have to conform to any Japanese standards of femininity [though at the same time he might be even more of a yamato nadeshiko]) Ah, does it? I didn't really think so, there's just a lot of values dissonance between the two cultures.
It is! I think Shitt p is my favorite Shimon. I had a tiny thing written where Gokudera thinks that Shitt P's inflatables are to evolutionary structures used to attract mates and imagining the whole town flooded by UMAs, I scrapped it though, because I couldn't get it to make any sense.
Yeah, I can get that. Spanner and Gamma aren't bad for me, but I can never get Byakuran right for some reason.
Awesome~ UM, YES, I WILL TRY?
...I love song recs (the musician in me wants to sing all of these) Yamai's voice is incredibly sexy, I could listen to that all day (I've recently been listening to way too much American music. I just wish I could torrent on my school internet, because I'm not a good enough hacker to be able to get around weird download data allocation blocks.) I quite like Clear, but I've never let things like ubiquity get in the way of things like that, but I agree these duets with Nero are epic [Fuck... Cantarella <3] (It's saying what I think it's saying, oh that's great! Work safeness matters not because my fancy laptop is to heavy to actually carry anywhere public {and the nearset Starbucks is miles away and I can't drive. Going into withdraws.} and I've never worked a day in my life.)

It's just that the entire Japanese mindset is based on rules and regulations; Americans interpret one thing as freedom is liberating, and the Japanese can see the same thing as chaos is terrifying. There's an order to everything, including relationships. P-personally I find it really fascinating even though I would be the shittiest Japanese girlfriend ever hahahahahaha. I think it's somewhere in between-- the girl he assumed she was, that's his convenient fantasy. But he did get to know her a little-- maybe not recently, but in the Daily Life Arc and a few scenes in the Future Arc-- and, at least from my perspective, he still looked pretty smitten. I don't know if I can throw love around much, admittedly. (I honestly think Kyohei would be girlier-- he'd just be girlier for anyone but Tsuna and then with Tsuna he'd just sort of casually 180 into a complete gentleman. :3c) Oh, it didn't? That's good, then!
Shitt P should be everyone's favorite everything oops bias where did you come from. YOU SHOULD POST IT ANYWAY; NOTHING ABOUT THE TWO OF THEM NEEDS TO MAKE SENSE.
Hahahahaha, you are like the opposite of me in which Millefiore's cooperate. We should split them down the middle or something.
YES! The world needs more Whistle! fic.
Yamai's voice is mindblowing, and her range is pretty damn impressive. I don't always have issues with things that are everywhere, but when they are so common it's hard to navigate other Nico singers' songs without occasionally hitting a WALL of his I have pretty high expectations that he doesn't quite meet. He's very good, though, and Nero basically perfects him. (Cantarella is a fabulous song.) (I practically fell out my seat the first time I heard it, I won't lie. I WAS NOT WARNED, AND I LIVE WITH OTHER PEOPLE. Luckily I was wearing headphones.)

Yeah, I'm so not Japanese (despite knowing the language) I thrive on freedom as chaos, but I could understand the opposite. It is fascinating, to see how such universal concepts can be so completely different in other parts of the world. She and Tsuna are closer now, but they don't spend a lot of time talking; it's mostly just Tsuna blushing and running away. But he does like her a lot, I do suppose, even if love isn't quite the right word. (That makes a lot of sense, actually.)
There is no such thing as an unbiased opinion and without opinion the world would be straight fact and thusly incredibly boring and only made worse by the fact that we would not no any better. And thereby through circular reasoning bias is good (so long as it doesn't get people killed) [also, I completely agree] Mkay, I'll post my nonsensical drabble

He watches her from behind the concrete of the wall as she leans against the roof of the building. Today she is wearing large, brightly colored plastic contraptions around her torso and he jots down a note 'another odd structure has appeared on the creature known as the UMA. Must investigate further'
The sound of crinkling rubber brings him attention once again to where she lounges on the roof, this time taking hold of a part of the material and blowing in warm air enough to create a fog abound the edges. He jots down a note about lung capacity and centimeters per second. Hm, it appears UMA weren't too different from humans, but he will not be fooled. He has an article to write for his boss after all and when he had turned in the last one, the tenth had been so happy he could barely speak except to bang his head against the desk repeatedly in what he knew to be a show of joy.
He lookes up quickly as her silhouette against the sun changes and takes in the fully inflated hoops shining red like autumn, like his boss' eyes, like... His pen falls from his fingers and his whole body stills
No way, no way, it couldn't be. He bends down for the pen and writes quickly, blue ink staining his hands. 'I have a hypothesis on the reason for the existence of these such objects. I believe them to be evolutionary structures such as on other members of the animalia kingdom used to attract mates. And if that's so...'
Gokudera's eyes widen and he rus off to tell Tsuna about the UMA conspiracy theories and how quickly a town could be over run. He is sure his boss will be delighted again.

There ya' go. But, I told you it didn't make any sense. Mostly because I my style is so bad for writing crack. This is part of a bigger AU based mostly on your idea where Tsuna inherits a bad gossip rag as his Vongola family business and Gokudera is a famous occult writer who Tsuna saves from a falling stack of library books.
It does seem so. Hm, that might work actually.
I agree, Yamai is seriously talented. The internet is a bad place for expectations, but, you're right, I'm not sure he's worth all that hype. I found him through a link one of my favorite English fad dubbers put up, so I didn't have to sift around his work too much. Nero's voice reminds me of Mamoru Miyano. I couldn't remember who he made me think of, but I finally got it! (No one in my family would care anyway [they're artists, I grew up with brass penis sculptures and boob paintings around the house] but I don't live with them anymore {because I'm a delinquent who dropped out of high school to go to college early on scholarship.} That doesn't sound like a fun way to find out about that though. Headphones are useful, where would teenagers be without them. Still, that Engrish is hilarious.)

Blushing and running away practically counts as flirting in Japan, though. (There was actually a blog/article type thing, where a girl explained the differences between American flirting/sex and Japanese flirting/sex. It was pretty cool and explained a lot.) Which is probably why I always get the feeling Kyoko knows he likes her; he's REALLY, REALLY OBVIOUS. (It does! I wish I could write Kyoko/Kyohei as easy as I could explain them.)
dsjgk I LOVED THE DRABBLE. You're right when you say your style doesn't lend itself easily to blunt humor, but I thought it made perfect sense and laughed anyway, so mission accomplished.
Also oh gosh I want to see that AU.
So, you take all the nerds and I'll take all the crazies?
(I feel like I don't need to respond to this paragraph anymore because my NicoNico love spreads around on plurk enough anyway.)

That seems kind of counter productive, but I suppose if it's the societal norm. (Americans are kind of blunt about it, but I guess that's really, really not the regular Japanese custom.) Well, he did ask her out in the first chapter (even if she took it as a joke) so in combination with that, of course she knows. (Well, everything comes with practice [which is a nice way of saying that you should just write more of them anyway'])
Haha, thanks, I'm glad. Always good to make someone laugh. Humor is the most difficult thing for me and I end up thinking 'can I just angstily kill someone off already'. plus I've never mastered writing in another style. I should try that sometime, it might be fun.
So do I. It would be epic, but I don't know the proles for any of the other characters.
It's a deal :]
