Well, I'm rather glad that I wasn't on duty for the ball this evening, and both Marcus and Eddie are out of the house thank god, I doubt I could face that pillock Flint at the moment, so it meant I could put my feet up.
I did pop down to see the family, although Dad wasn't there - he's away at a conference with his party - which was actually something of a bonus, as it meant I could have a quiet word with Mum over a cuppa. It turns out I was right no surprise there - she didn't have anything to do with the letter purporting to be from them both that I got a while back. Dad and his image, again - Mum knows I wouldn't be doing anything stupid.
I think I just need to let him stew calm down for a while before I approach him about it, otherwise it should be fine.
I gave Mum the presents I had got for Samantha and Michael. They weren't in themselves - a friend's party or something - which was a shame as I haven't seen them in such a long time. Mum suggested they take the parcels with them to school (they both go to Muggle boarding schools) as something to treat themselves when they get there, so I had to point out that their schoolfriends might get suspicious of moving wizarding photographs. She went all quiet at that and I thought I'd upset her, but she said she was just thinking about how things had changed so much since before I started at Hogwarts, and how we have to think about everything we do when in the Muggle world, so as not to reveal things we shouldn't. I think it's taking its toll more than it used to.
I'll have to arrange to go down there again as soon as I have the time off - I think she misses me. It's been ages since we last hung out together or anything like that. I'd have stayed tonight, but I really need time to myself at the moment that's the problem of living with two guys, one you haven't seen in ages and one being a colleague who has a tendancy to piss you of...
