Sometimes, Snarry is Love. :) Glad you enjoyed it, *headfridge* and all.

I love the words and images you use in this; I think I may prefer this one to Necessary Surrogates.

It makes me forget everything but my animus and the incendiary lethe of his mouth. : Just lovely.

It always seems to work that way that people are happiest with the stuff with which I'm most unhappy. :) Very glad you enjoyed the story and thanks for the FB.

Oh, good. I was just groaning "convenient, that, killing Voldemort with a sentence" when I learned that Snape has thoughtfully stashed his ashes in a jar. Good. I still lick my lips from the deliciousness of it.

"...Potter into my own image..." Oh, those porous author-narrator-character-character walls. I'll leave them alone. ;) I'm so much happier when your voice emanates from Snape than from Potter, though.

In badfics, Voldemort's death is usually a three-piece circus act with fireworks and lots of iffy Latin, so that's why I went with the one-sentence version :). As for Voldemort's ashes, well. Severus "I have an obsession with pickled things" Snape wasn't about to let them go to waste.

And yeah, sometimes the 4th wall just comes off its hinges all on its own. Glad you were happy with the Snape voice though overall, I find writing him to be absolute hell. It's like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall.

Right on. I can pull off Snape moments or situations, but trying to contextualise him in the big logical picture generally degenerates into an argument with my friend(s), during which we each change sides several times.

Well, the canon is awfully mysterious with his motives, too. There are several Snape personas (MinistryToadie!Snape, noble Spy!Snape, Petty!Snape with greying underwear, Evil Teacher from Hell, etc.) from which to choose, so no wonder there are so many fanon Snapes around, too. That's why I find writing him such a challenge (and why I love writing him, too): how to portray a well-proportioned aggregate of all that he is?

See, I was all about the ashes too. As soon as you write that Voldemort was a pile of ash, I'm thinking to myself about the wonderful uses of it in potions ingredients.

...you know you're a HP nutcase when....

Ashes aside, that was a lovely piece. It needs a side-sequel though - something interesting with those ashes.

Obsession. Whee!

Indeed, I have plans for the ashes -- yeah, one HP nutcase right here. :) We'll see when I can find the time to fiddle with that plot bunny (that sound somehow dirty).

Thanks for the FB!
