The way I see it, from the moment that Chloe was put back in that cell with Sam, Dean and Bobby, that small part of his brain that's not consumed with hunting, protecting Sammy, alcohol or downstairs thoughts sat up and took notice. It looked around, and gave the rest of his brain a speech that went something like this:

We got another shot, guys. That's our girl. We are *not* going to blow it this time.

the rest of the brain took stock, and decided that this was a good thing.

Hunter!Brain said that this would be a good thing, because Chloe is a good hunter.

Savin' sammy!Brain agreed, because Chloe is also focused on Savin' sammy, and will follow his directions to achieve said ends.

Beer!brain was against the idea on principle, because Dean can't drink while Chloe's lips are in the way, but when the other brain parts pointed out that she can't get drunk, and therefore dosen't drink, so not only would she be the Designated Driver, but there would be more beer for Dean, then Beer!brain was on board with that.

Downstairs! Brain just took one look at her in fatigues, and went off into it's happy little fantasy corner. The rest of the brain decided that Downstairs!Brain was on board with the plan, just because Downstairs!Brain was on board with any plan that meant sex for Dean.

So he had to get a little sidetracked what with hunting, the Meg!Demon, and Sam's brain prison problems, but the Chloe!brain is in charge, and Dean is doing what it takes to hang on to his girl. ;)
