“Lex.”
“I'm surprised at you, Mr. Kent. That was almost civil.”
“What gave you the impression that I can't be civil?”
“Maybe it's the way that you and the lovely Mrs. Lane-Kent keep calling me The Prince of Darkness in that paper of yours.”
“Actually, The Prince of Darkness would be Chloe's nickname for you. Lois prefers Dr. Evil.”
“Charming,” Lex sneered. “If I had known you would be here, I would have elected to stay home.”
“Don't let me keep you away from your daughter's sixth grade graduation,” Clark shrugged. “You're only her father.”
“Why are you here, anyway? Isn't this supposed to be Kara's freshman year of high school? Shouldn't you be attending some football game and taking photos of your daughter at the top of some silly pyramid or other?”
“Well, you would know, given the technology that you invested in spying on us.”
“I wouldn't have to spy if you would have just confided --”
“And we're on this argument again,” Clark crossed his eyes and sighed.
“So . . . Why are you here?”
“Chloe's son, Chance is in the same graduating class as Lena.”
“That's right,” Lex smirked uncomfortably. “The Winchester boy.”
“Isn't that him sitting next to Lena?”
Lex sighed. “Unfortunately.”
Clark chuckled.
“What?”
“I was just counting my blessings that my daughters are his cousins.”
“I fail to see the humor in this.”
“It's just that Chance is about to hit dating age. My kids may be the only ones on the planet safe from the son of Dean Winchester.” Clark chuckled again.
“Very funny,” Lex grumbled.
