I turned in the re-write to Bride of Tranquility yesterday. Selina was happy with the re-write and we had a short business meeting about getting the book out there. Just a matter of months, folks!
One of the things we discussed was cover art. I've got some very definite ideas about what I want. Something that --if you just glance at it -- looks like it could be a wedding photo. But it gives you an uneasy feeling, like something isn't quite right, and makes you want to look closer so you can figure out what. Then when you do, you start to see the things that aren't quite right -- like the fact that there is an elvis impersonator wearing spock ears who is mixed in with the bridesmaids, and that the pastor looks like santa claus, and that the wedding coach has a body hidden inside it.
But first we have to get an artist, and then I have to discuss all this with that artist. So we'll see. And while we're in the process, since this is small press, I get to do things like write the back cover copy (small press means that there isn't a seperate person to do this).
But it's in the works, and it's exciting.
