Her parents never understood why she never wanted to move. Okay, what fourteen year old wants to leave bustling Metropolis for the leafy hamlet of Smallville? But really, trying to super glue herself to the door went a little far.
So in the end . . . Chloe Sullivan had to leave Metropolis behind.
But the end is rarely the end. And years later, when she could afford it, she moved back to the old apartment at Sullivan place.
Clark and Pete didn't understand why she insisted on the smallest room. Clark obviously needed the room with the balcony for his quick exits. But Pete was willing to let her have the master bedroom, if she'd wanted it.
They didn't know.
Ten years to the day, Chloe Sullivan crawled into bed, pulled the covers over her head, and switched on an old my-little-pony night light. Within moments the closet door creaked open.
“Kitty?” she whispered into the dark.
“Boo?” the dark whispered back.
