“Singer Auto Salvage,” Bobby said as he picked up his cell phone.
“Bobby?” Sam sounded scared on the other end of the line. “Something's wrong with Dean.”
The old hunter rolled his eyes. It would be nice if the boys came to visit when things were going well. But these days, he only heard from them if there was something wrong.
“What now?”
“He's . . . acting really weird.” Sam sounded kind of embarrassed on the phone.
Bobby pushed his hat higher and scratched at his forehead. “Details, Sam.”
“Well, the black eyes for one thing.”
“Did you try an exorcism?”
“First thing. But he didn't even react. Then there's the talking in his sleep.”
“What did he say?”
“He . . . talks about himself in third person. And says weird stuff.”
“Like?” Bobby rolled his eyes. Sam wasn't normally this hard to pry information from. Something was making him extremely flustered.
“He says: All the demons run in fear when they see Dean's muscles.”
“He said what?” Bobby's forehead wrinkled in confusion. “You sure this isn't a bizarre form of Tourette's syndrome?”
“Yeah. And lately, the way he looks at me . . . It's like a bad Wincest story.”
Bobby nodded in sudden understanding, both of Sam being flustered, and the reason for Dean's strange behavior.
“Sam, I think Dean's been possessed by a Canon Sue.”
“I was afraid of that,” Sam said quietly. “What do I do?”
“You have the canonizer handy?”
“Yeah, but what'll happen if I use it on Dean?”
“Don't worry about it,” Bobby said. “Although he may ramble on for a few days about making a deal with a demon, and he may eat a few more cheeseburgers and sleep around a little more.”
“So he'll be back to normal? Good to know.”
