The reluctant Aoi is forced to work as a “maid” to Uruha, the school’s tyrant, and love blooms unconsciously between them. The happiness doesn’t last for long, however. Facing the trauma of a rape incident, will Aoi be able to overcome it with the help of Uruha, or will the latter leave him because of the humiliation? There is an ending to everything- but just how odd can it be?
Comments: At the end of the fic (:

“N-no way…” Reita stared across the table at his cousin in disbelief. He felt Ruki’s nails dig into his palm painfully, and the younger buried his head into his lover’s shoulder. Reita could feel wetness on his sleeve, yet his vision didn’t stir. His gaze almost burned a hole through Akira’s eyes, desperately searching for answers and confirmation.

“I’m sorry…” Akira shook his head, his expression upset and bearing no great news. He stared at his thumbs, fondling with them anxiously - he couldn’t take the disappointment in his cousin’s eyes, as well as the grievous atmosphere. Akira himself was shocked at first when he received the news in such a short time- it usually took a couple of weeks or a little over a month, depending on the amount of work the headquarters had at the moment. Great news was inevitable, he thought, but he had expected nothing like that.

Aoi, Shiroyama Yuu, was diagnosed HIV positive.

That guy was a wonder- he made a great impression to Akira. The blonde had admired him for his unusual bravery ever since the first meeting. And of course, not forgetting Aoi’s impacts on Uruha. The mentioned blonde had always been a tough nut to crack. Akira was known for his ability to understand minds and for being a kinesics expert, but not even himself was able to make Uruha open up like how Aoi did.

“Have you double-checked the results?” Hurt and surprise was still evident in Reita’s voice, but his statement had hit another higher note- anger and accusation. Akira’s head shot up at the disruption to his thoughts.

“N-no, but we are positive that… well, there had never been a mis-” His words were broken off, and Akira till this day could never figure out what exactly happened. The classy coffee table that set a barrier between them was swiftly overturned, the sound of glass breaking and shattering being enormously deafening in the silent room. Akira found himself being grabbed by the collar by Reita instantly.

Akira swore he saw no human in Reita’s cold eyes. Granted, there was fury, there was disappointment, but there were no signs of his beloved cousin. For so many years since Reita was born, he had never witnessed the blonde being so reckless and upset.

“Well, then. What makes you so sure that the results are accurate?” Reita hissed the words out, lips shut so tight into a thin, firm line. Out of the corner of his eyes, Akira noticed a shocked and wide-eyed Ruki. He returned to looking Reita firm in the eyes, showing him that his conscience is clear, but returning no words.

“There’s always a first time, Akira.” Reita released his grip on Akira’s collar, and brushed invisible dust off himself. He was calmer now, and there was slight remorse in his words. “They might have made a mistake. You never know.”

Reita was no longer in a frenzy, and he sounded almost hurt and pleading. Akira felt his heart soften- he sympathized with his cousin.

“I know… Alright. I’ll double check again. But the procedure might take a day or two…”

“I don’t care… just… get it done…”

Aoi let out a long exhale. He smiled at the sight of Uruha’s mansion in front of him. It felt all too familiar to him now, almost like a home.

Uruha grasped Aoi’s hand tightly with his left hand, removing his sunglasses coolly with his right. The weather was perfect, with the sun held high in the sky, the clouds doing their part by supplying shade. The wind blew like any other day, but something was nagging.

Uruha couldn’t quite lay a finger on what was it, and he gave up thinking about it when Aoi dragged him towards the entrance through the garden.

“Welcome back, Takashima-san! Welcome back, Aoi-san!” The gardeners shot cheerful greetings at the couple, and Uruha nodded majestically in return. Kyoko was standing just outside the door, with a “WELCOME HOME!” banner hung over the metal gate. Aoi scoffed at the overly magnificent decorations, but quickly got over it.

“Welcome back, Takashima-san.” Kyoko bowed politely, giving a small nod in Aoi’s direction as well. She showed them back into the house, and Aoi practically dragged Uruha all the way up to their room. Upon reaching the desired destination, the brunette flung himself onto the bed in exhaustion.

Uruha shook his head at Aoi, clearly amused by his eagerness. He noticed Kyoko was still standing at the doorway a few moments later.

“Is there anything else?”

“Well, Suzuki-san called. It sounded pretty urgent.”

Uruha’s eyebrows shot up. Reita?

“Well if that spoiled brat called it must be pretty important. Thanks, Kyoko.” Uruha joked and gave his caretaker a warm smile. Kyoko excused herself as he proceeded towards the telephone across their room, just beside their bed.

“Reita called?” Aoi questioned when he felt a dip on the bed to the left of him.

Uruha nodded in silence before punching in the numbers. He was upset and a steadily escalating sense of foreboding hit him. Butterflies flew in his stomach as the line went through successfully.

After three steady rings, Reita’s grim voice sounded through the speaker.

“Uruha?”

“Yeah. Kyoko told me you called. What’s the matter?”

There was a long pause at the other end.

“Uruha?”

“Yeah?” The honey blonde frowned at the second time his name was being called.

“We’ve gotten the results.” Uruha frowned.

Reita was trying to be ambiguous with his statement, but Uruha knew exactly what he meant.

“So… what’s up with the meeting, you guys?” Aoi voiced his question out loud. He had just arrived home from the vacation before Uruha called Reita up and here he was, in the middle of Reita’s large living room sitting on the couch.

Something was wrong- Aoi could tell this much.

Ruki was sitting directly across from him, and his eyes were bloodshot and swollen. His best friend avoided him in the eye, and instead stared at his feet. He allowed his attention to divert to Reita. The young master of this house was sitting right beside his lover, and his left hand was holding Ruki’s hand tight. His right hand was holding a can of Pepsi, which was shaking visibly. Everyone had been silent ever since Aoi and Uruha had stepped into the house, and the atmosphere was horribly tense.

Akira, Reita’s cousin, was standing in an awkward position, leaning his back against the wall. His expression was unreadable as well, and the silence was starting to get irritating.

“Aoi,” Reita started uncertainly. He and Uruha exchanged glances. “We’ve gotten the results from Akira.”

Aoi felt his heart skip a beat. He didn’t like the sound of it. Uruha’s body tensed noticeably beside him, and he sat up straight as well.

“You don’t mean…” Aoi’s voice was hushed and even slightly broken. Uruha’s heart clenched at the fact as tears threatened to fall at the corner of his eyes.

Akira gave a short nod.

Ouch.

Takanori buried his face in his hands again, sobbing uncontrollably. A single teardrop rolled down Uruha’s cheeks, but he allowed no more humiliation to himself by blinking furiously. Reita and his cousin shared the same reaction, biting their lower lip painfully. Aoi was the only one in the room without much of any kind of response.

Aoi stood up from his place on the couch. Uruha lifted his head to look at his lover. Aoi’s face was pale, and from the side view, he seemed so much feeble and thin. Aoi felt his insides crashing down together, felt his intestines malfunctioning, felt his throat swallow his tongue back in, and felt the familiar stinging in his eyes before tears well up.

Uruha’s hand went up automatically to grasp Aoi’s hand, only to be met with direct rejection. He held on persistently, each pull Aoi made only seem to strengthen his hold on his hand. Uruha was devastated at the fact that Aoi was closing up on him. He couldn’t, not at this moment. Aoi needed someone, and Uruha would be there for him. Why was Aoi doing this to himself?

“Let go.” Aoi’s voice sounded dangerous and cold, it chilled even Uruha straight to the heart. The honey blonde was shocked and heartbroken, losing any motivation to even move- he simply stared.

Uruha felt Aoi’s free hand move over his hand. With an insistent tug, Aoi summoned a sudden strength and successfully removed Uruha’s hand from his. Uruha’s limp hand fell onto the couch with a dull thud, and the onlookers around the room winced.

Without as much as another word or look, Aoi turned to make long but careless strides towards the exit, and the universe almost stopped as the brunette exited the room. Everyone was in a daze, the blood rushing straight to their brains. They couldn’t register what had exactly happened, and for the second time that day, Uruha felt teardrops rolling down his cheeks.

Aoi was drenched from head to toe. The sky started raining cats and dog immediately after he left Reita’s house. The weather described how he was feeling that moment perfectly well, and he smirked to himself. He was HIV positive, huh? Aids. There was no treatment for it, was there? So he’ll just wait till it overcomes him completely.

He allowed his memory to lead him back to the situation in Reita’s house. How he had rejected Uruha painfully.

I had to do that. It was for the greater good.

Aoi tried to convince himself. He didn’t want to spend the rest of his remaining life with Uruha. If it was the old Aoi a few days ago, he would have agreed to the plan. But now that Uruha had shown Aoi how much he loved him, and that Aoi’s love for Uruha has deepened reasonably, he couldn’t just let Uruha stay with him.

Uruha had a bright future ahead of him. He was attractive, and he could have been a successful man in the future, probably even blessed with a perfect wife, and a couple of children. But with Aoi? A dying guy? The brunette could see no future, for Uruha, for both of them. It was pointless to tie Uruha down. The blonde wouldn’t be happy with him.

For the greater good, Aoi.

A/N: This chapter mainly revolves around their feelings, I guess. There isn’t much action LOL. I’m working on other fictions as well, and depending on my mood these few days, my progression MIGHT/MIGHT NOT be fast. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the fic, and comments are loved!! =D
