Happiest of happy birthdays to my dearly beloved gabolange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There will be birthday fic, but as happens more often than not, I fail at timing. Belated birthday fic. The birthday that keeps on giving. Fic at some to-be-determined unbirthday in the future. :D At least you know me well enough to know that it's a rare birthday gift that I manage to bestow on time (and then there was that year when I forgot to get my sister anything at all...).

There is no other news quite as exciting as gabolange's birthday, but I've come out of the other end of marking hell, and I'm getting close to being able to wrap up my final semester at the current institution. And good riddance it will be, too! The new place will also have problems, I'm sure, but they'll be different problems (at least somewhat; students lie and cheat everywhere, unfortunately, but I fantasize that in classes of 20-30, it will be easier to keep a handle on it than in classes of 120-130).
Television-wise, I'm eagerly anticipating the return of River Song, I'm still enjoying The Killing, and I must admit I've been a little disappointed in Castle throughout the most recent stretch--since the last ep about Beckett's mother's case. It feels like it's been in stasis, and one of the things I've always appreciated about this show is the fact that for as formulaic as the plot tends to be, the characters grow; but it doesn't feel like they have been lately. I quite enjoyed this post by Henry Jenkins on Castle's potential to get the romantic relationship thing right, but whereas a month or two ago I'd have agreed with him wholeheartedly, I'm now getting just the slightest niggling of worry. Hopefully the worry will prove to be unfounded!
Otherwise, it's been pretty uneventful around here. *squishes you all*
