It's November! How is it November???
To distract me from the Novemberness of it all, have some links. About awesome women. Because, well, yes, I am exactly that predictable.
If you don't read
chaila/chaila43, you've been missing out on an absolutely fabulous series of 31 Days of Awesome Women (or on DW if you prefer). Many characters who are not the usual suspects, and I've been enjoying the hell out of Chaila's choices and the things she has to say about these characters.
zinke responded to the faily flowchart of a few weeks back with a mocking crack!fic that is a tribute to its genre: Fighting Back in Three (or More) Dimensions (multi-fandom)
And there's a new community, which I believe was also initially a response to the flowchart but is looking to be just a standing thing, and I must admit that my delight that it now exists is also coupled with surprise that it didn't exist already (and how was the name free?!?!?). awesome_women is getting off the ground with posts about the characters we might expect ( Kara Thrace! River Song!) but also with fun things like the argument that a show comprised of the women brought on CSI: NY as Mac Taylor's various (and often halfhearted) love interests would be SO much more interesting than CSI: NY actually is (for the record, I entirely agree). Anyway, it seems to be a comm idea with a lot of fun potential, and I think we should all go play.
