Well, I'm not sure I'd agree that it's a shame. I mean, voracious appetites are one thing, and what someone does in private is none of the public's business if it's not interfering with his or her job. But Chappaquiddick was rather another matter, and that's the sort of thing I don't think he should exactly be forgiven for. I rather liked what life_on_queen, following cofax7 said about it: "For my part, I hope in equal measure that Mary Jo is there to kick Teddy's ass and that God judges him kindly." I think I agree

I like how you summed up Kennedy. That's it exactly.

As for the Wizard of Oz, the same can be said about How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was a once a year treat and now they play it 25 times each December. I think a lot of movies/TV special events lose some luster because of this.

Thanks for the SCC fic rec! Perhaps this will help me to finally get rid of some of my bitterness about the cancellation. Born to Run did work quite well as a series finale, I suppose, but I still want to know What Happened Next.
