Ficlet: "A Small Crime" (TSCC, Ellison/Sarah)

I really am working on a proper fic about James Ellison, complete with theology and stuff. But the porn battle is a crazy enabler, so instead I've written more Sarah/Ellison porn. Something of a follow-up to this. Ficlet here at the Porn Battle, and below for archival purposes ( Read more... )

I'm just trying to ignore the part where this will never happen in canon. :(

But thank you! I'm so glad this worked for you.

And yes, I think that there's just way too much baggage surrounding Derek, where Sarah's concerned. I mean, I also find Derek/Sarah an appealing prospect in terms of a hot, angsty pairing, but it's all just a little too fraught. While I don't think she worries about destroying him, I think he is too scarred, too weary and wounded and ultimately dangerous, at least in Sarah's mind. Not to mention the Kyle thing.

Ellison is dangerous, too, in the sense that he needs to be confident in his own mind that he's doing what he best needs to do, and if he's not, he doesn't take orders and play by anyone else's rules. I was really surprised (and impressed) that it seems he would have let Cameron kill him before confessing that he'd taken Cromartie's body. But I feel like if he were to realize what Catherine is and what she's (presumably?) up to, if he were to get on board with Team Connor and really believe in what Sarah's trying to do, he'd be the strongest ally Sarah could have.

Sadly, there's a lot of "if" there, and I'll be very surprised if canon goes this direction.

Oh, and speaking of fanfic and such, I have had your BSG story open for days and days and keep hoping to have enough concentrated time to read it with the care it deserves. But I just wanted you to know that I know it's there, and I'm looking forward to it--I just haven't quite gotten to it yet. Soon!

Yes, exactly! Derek/Sarah is also not something I can't see or dislike, it's just much more fraught and destructive and if Derek appeals to Sarah then it's in a self-destructive way, whereas if James Ellison appeals to Sarah it's in a very different (but wonderful) way.

I really hope Ellison survives and if he does I think eventually he'll have to work out what's going on somehow. But then, the show is actually doing a really interesting job of keeping him on the "wrong" side for all the right reasons. Unfortunately that also keeps him away from Sarah.

Re: my story - don't worry there's no hurry. I know it's absolutely enormous and while I'd love to hear any thoughts you have on it, there is no hurry. I'm glad you even think it sounds interesting enough to want to read. :)
