I have to admit, yesterday was such a busy day that I went from sometime around noon till 10:00 at night without remembering that the tournament had started. *is bad fan* But then I was at the pub and someone turned on the TV, and it was like the basketball switch had been flipped, and I was glued for the next two hours. My friends were much amused. And slightly flabbergasted because they don't get it. Their loss, naturally.
I missed the excitement of Gonzaga and Tennessee both escaping by the skin of their teeth. I knew TN was seeded too highly; they just have not been playing well lately. But Syracuse/Texas A&M was a great game, and I found myself rooting for A&M even though I had Syracuse advancing in my bracket because they were just playing such a great game! I was also glad that San Diego St. gave Indiana an exciting game, but happy enough that Indiana advanced, for the sake of my bracket.
Haven't figured out the plan for watching Kentucky tonight. I'm supposed to go St. Patrick's pubbing with friends, and hopefully there will be a TV there that I can watch. Otherwise I will have to leave the likely extraordinarily crowded Irish pub and come back to the GSU or something to watch. I'm also having distress about my Lucky Kentucky t-shirt. It's too cold just to wear it today, and I wouldn't want to wear it out tonight anyway because it's old and ratty (it dates from the '96-'98 era). I could climb in it this afternoon, but I don't think I'll have a chance to wash it before round 2, so when they move on I'll be in trouble. This ought not to be so complicated!
Basketball!!! *flails*
