Well, it seems I have a new aversion to posting. Truthfully, I don't have the usual excuse of a boring uneventful life. It's just as exciting as it's always been (interpret that as you will). I guess I'll bullet the great "catch-up" points for all my friends who keep up with me the internet way.

  • Forever ago, and I mean forever, I met Karl Lagerfeld at a Cat Power (Gato Power, for those of you who purchase your tickets at Fiesta supermarkets) concert. I say this not because I find this impressive, but I've found that others do. World famous designer, bah. I don't know about fashion or art. Okay that slightly a lie. I don't know names or time periods attached to fashion or art. I just know what I like to see.

Along this vein (the Cat Power concert one), the friend I went to the show with knows the bass player from back in the day. So after the show, we went to hang out with the Cat Power people at a small bar until they kicked us out. While we were there, I ran into the guy who is now my new neighbor.

Now for all of you that know me, a Cat Power concert is usually the last place you can get me to go. I just wanted to acknowledge that fact. It just goes to show what happens when you are peer pressured by a different group of friends.
  • My birthday just happened. I'm now an apathetic 25. I was excited for about 24 hours, and in a great feat of underachievement, I was over it. I guess I got tired of the young people calling me old and they older people calling me young. In this particular instance, relativity had a way of blanding things out.

I had a fun one, though. My mother came to town and we just kicked it old school. The highlight was our trip to the Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not palace. It was super fun, especially the maze of mirrors. I only ran into one mirror.
  • My father had another heart attack. I didn't call or go see him in the hospital. I decided not to take time from work for something that occurs as often as I change my shoes. I'm sure that if I quit being quite as calloused to him as I am his stress levels would decrease. Frankly, if I'm part of the case, then he needs to chillax. Chill and relax. Seriously.
  • Thanksgiving is the most present thing. I'm at my mother's house now. She's at church now, which explains why I have time to write an entry. I came to hang out Thanksgiving style this early so that I can go back to work on Thanksgiving Day. When you are being paid hourly, you volunteer to work on days that give you something as awesome as double time. I'll miss most of the family, but following tradition, I'll be avoiding spending any time with them.

My mother got a puppy. She is a complete terror, but so cute. Pratt is having middle child issues and is showing out by peeing on ev-er-y-thing. The puppy, Lydia, is chewing on everything Pratt isn't peeing on. Tybolt, who has recently been put on a diet, is eating everything Pratt isn't peeing on.

I'm using these days off to prepare for my next interview. This ambitious bitch wants another promotion. I'm going up against two well qualified people who been with the company at least three times longer than I. If I get the position, I may well have a price on my head. I hope I get it.
  • I know where I'm going to live next year. It's a duplex with all of the charm and inexpensiveness of Oak Cliff, but with a locale just minutes from my job. Good ol' Peaks Suburban district. At least I know who my neighbor is already. Remember, I met him while hanging out with Cat Power.

Ok, I think that's enough for now. Somebody, somewhere needs a cup of coffee.
