This reminds me of clubs I used to make as a kid - "French Stamp Collecting Club", "Benny is the Best of the Boxcar Children Society", etc. - in that, I constitute two-thirds of this blogging community. It's suspiciously Max Fischer, but I honestly find Filipino film fascinating.
Please, use this board to discuss Filipino films, and not just formally, ideologically, or even seriously. Silly reviews are appreciated, as are questions or comments or blurbs. Advertisements for any and all things related to the Philippines are more than welcome. Feel free to use this as a springboard for approaching a wider variety of topics: film in a larger context, third-world culture, or even as a mediation between conflicting ethnic issues or identities (hey, we all got those, right?). After all, Filipino film is just an inaugural point, a site of departure, the doorway into a realm of intellectual/aesthetic/visceral/________ possibility.
