you don't realize how things like mowing your grass, the cost of gas and the hispanic people across the street playing loud music are so insignificant until something terrible happens. this morning my mom called me and told me that a friend from high school got killed yesterday. his name was barrett graves and he was an awesome person. we went to senior prom together as friends and he was always so fun to be around. anyway, he was on interstate 40 coming home from school for the weekend and got out of his car (for what reason, they don't know yet) and was hit by a semi. he didn't die instantly...he was flown to vanderbilt hospital where he died a few hours later. i hadn't seen or spoken to barret in about 8 years, but i'm still just really sad. i was fine all day today until i came home to find some pictures from high school and then the waterworks started. i feel stupid for being so upset, but he was so young (27) and had so much life still left to live. what a loss.
