Tonight at 7 was the fourth annual SLU Monster Plastic Pull, a Halloween themed bouldering competition! It lasted for two hours... I took 7th place in the Men's Recreational category. The route setters did an incredible job, with actually setting the routes and naming them. Their names were so interesting that I'm going to try to incorporate them into a little annecdote. hehe... all the routes are in quotes. well here goes...
So one day I was on "The Emerald Isle" and I was "Juggin'" it big time on this sweet boulder. About 20 feet up I grabbed a hold of a "Hornet's Nest" and screamed "Blam It"! as I was stung dozens of times. By some miracle I made it to the top and said, '"Escucheme!" Enough of "Nis"...' On my way home from the climb I stopped at a 711 and ordered the famous "Farva's Liter a Cola." They had no idea what I was talking about so I said, "Stick 'um Up!" I tried to explain my situation, I told the clerk I had a "Prisoner's Dilemma." 'You have a choice to make,' I quipped, and it's "The Difference Between Black and White"...' The clerk quoted a line from some band called "The Mouse and the Mask" and looked nervously at the floor. His "Handle Bar Mustache" really didn't look good on him at all, and I was anxious to leave. 'How do you get to the freeway from here?' I asked him. 'Just... go "West on Backalackadacka Street" for a mile turn right, and you're there...' I thanked him and left the 711 promptly without cola or money. As I turned on my car my reagae mix came on. I blasted 'dat stuff, and my 'stang was feeling some serious "Rastaman Vibration." I waved to the clerk, and sped out of the parking lot into the night. "Fo Schizzle"!
owwww, my hands hurt...
time to go lick my climbing wounds haha...
hope you're all well,
