Sneaky little bitch, no one's quite figured out how such a stupid monster has managed to survive for so long. Stephanos goes from body to body, leaving his mark behind in human tongues. He may be stupid, but he's still dangerous, picking boys and girls with the promise to offer them protection and fascination. He is as hungry for flesh as he is for knowledge, indulging in his curiosity with those willing to share what they know and feel. He bites meat and crushes bone after learning everything about what goes in the mind. Stephanos can be recognized by the colors of his mutated tongue: orange and purple.

Kulshedra quickly performed the a rise to power when she took the body of a millionaire heiress and vanquished her entire family. Ruthless, manipulative and sadistic, she has been gathering her own little cult of monster hybrids and human slaves, using them for protection and entertainment. Few of her enemies are brave (or stupid) enough to challenge her power, and she makes sure traitors learn their lesson. Kulshedra is known for her appetite of female flesh and poisonous blood. Rumors that she desires to take Calathea's place are fueled by her overindulgence and what little she has done to put an end to the Devil's power. She rules through fear and false hope; she draws her slaves in with passion and a sharp tongue.

Wayne Hoffman was a little orphaned boy found roaming the streets on his own in a daze and with no apparent recollection of his past, just the certainty of his name and age. He was saved and taken in by Xanthia's charms to be properly raised into a sulfur slave, but Wayne suddenly decided to take off again, only to be found by Stephanos. He is now the monster's new favorite -- and willing -- human pet. But that's not quite how his story really goes... The little boy is indeed an orphan, but Wayne Hoffman is long gone and now the vessel to the gluttonous monster Ouroboros, betrayed by Stephanos big mouth and disgraced by the monsters' mother, Calathea, upon being revealed as a cannibal and traitor to his own kind. By miracle or fate, Ouroboros was left to rot in the remains of his own corpse, but the tricky little thing managed to escape and regain a body. He now walks in the guise of little Wayne Hoffman, eating humans and monsters alike, always hungry, for food and for revenge, making his way into Stephanos' grace so he can weaken and devour his brother.

She's an unstable bitch under a sticky-sweet guise, most of her siblings would rather avoid her. She has yet to produce a pure offspring. (!icons)

Hope has an ironic name. The child of a woman who had fought to follow through with the pregnancy against everything and everyone, fruit of Romazhvir's rape. The woman somehow saw the baby as some sort of her last hope in humanity - if she could raise Hope to work against the monsters and the Devil alike, she would have accomplished something much grander than herself. However, all that Hope was given was the contradictory and desperate love of her only parent, who refused to answer her questions about her father (There is no such thing, she'd say) and oppressed any of Hope's misbehaviours with what seemed to be terrified severity. Things took a grave turn when Hope tried to eat another child. Her mother grew distant and depressed from that moment on, treating her daughter like a freak, as Hope represented her colossal failure. She eventually died of illness, leaving Hope with unanswered questions and no one to turn to. She became used to running from monsters, dodging devils and evading every other side of the war. She does not know who or what she is - just that she is gradually giving in to the impulses that her mother tried so hard to erase.

Daughter of a female monster and male human, Aspen was picked up by Kulshedra and taken into her forgiving lair of slaves when her mommy was killed off by one of her many purist monster relatives. Kulshedra seems to have a very twisted sort of affection reserved for this one, treating her almost like a second-in-command at times. When the matriarch is out somewhere, Aspen takes control of the house. While she isn't allowed to eat any of her fellow slaves, she's given the privilege of leaving the property to hunt for her own meals every now and then and, without fail, Aspen returns every single time. She has nothing to hide or lie about, or so Kulshedra thinks.

Beautiful, polite and sticky sweet, Xanthia was raised by a sulfur slave and fanatic. Her mother was more than willing to give birth to one of the Devil's children, vowing to help her child grow into one of his most loyal subjects. Xanthia does her best to bring the poor innocent humans into her father's lair, taking in young runaways and old survivors with the promise of shelter and salvation. She is the wise and seductive voice that whispers in their ear, telling them there is no other way. Only the He can save your soul, if you give it to Him. Would you rather have the monsters imprison you inside your own body, then fall into the abyss of their hunger? No, of course not.

Nicola's older and estranged brother, Jules left the family household when the situation reached a critical point. He sold his soul to become a sulfur slave, dedicating his life to slaying monsters mercilessly. He travels alone, always in silence, incapable of speaking words. The eternal silence is replaced by his supernatural ability, amplifying the screaming voices of humans trapped in their own body. Jules' help is often requested to spot the creatures that come from above. He prefers to work solo, hopeful that his sacrifice will have some significance in the end.

Maddened and damaged by the insanity that the world has become, Sebastien lies on his throne and on the floor all day, unwilling to move, desperate to fall asleep. He is considered a prophet by accident; he mumbles and babbles all day long, revealing visions of things to come and idle words misinterpreted by humans to give them hope. Sebastien is fiercely protected by his own kind and offers them no real reward for it. His words are enough, all he has to keep him alive. He no longer knows of the world he lives in and he doesn't care; he just wants everything to go silent so he can finally sleep.

Little Wayne Hoffman grew back into Ouroboros and devoured Stephanos just as he was about to do the same to Emily Kingston - whether it was because it felt like it was the right time or because there was actually any concern for Emily's life isn't all that clear. Ouroboros never bothered to change bodies or hide his identity since, helping Hope Moore with her revenge against Romazvhir, one of his most hated brothers. He was her mentor for some time and donned her a new name as the monster Xesirit. Ouroboros now continues his search for revenge alone and in a much lest focused manner. One can argue that he makes himself a little too easy to find...
kulshedra

Attacked, called out and betrayed, Kulshedra was left with practically nothing with Sergej took out his revenge and Fenrad followed. Kulshedra managed to flee with what little strength she had left and relied on Aspen's help for a long time. Fenrad's rape resulted in an offspring, Raicho, proving wrong whatever certainty there was of Kulshedra's sterility. She now lives secluded and in a new body, slowly plotting her rise back to power.
jack gibson & cerbos

Cerbos was different from most of his siblings, unable to completely control a body and keep its voices shut. Instead he jumped from one dying man to another to breathe life into them and allow them to live as themselves as long as they allowed him to feed through them. Jack Gibson was as good as dead when the monster found him and presented that same deal. Desperate to cling to dear life, Jack accepted. The two travel together now, for better or for worse, and the man with the monster in his ear has been forced to question and forget his sense of morality ever since. Jack still finds enough of it to stand up to the monster on occasion, which often results in Cerbos completely taking over for a limited about of time.

Little Hope grew up when the abuse from Romazvhir escalated and she discovered who he really was - the monster who had raped her mother. By chance or opportunity, she then met Ouroboros, who had finally gotten rid of Stephanos and moved on to his next target. He became her mentor when Both found that they had much in common in matters of revenge. The day before they completed their plan and executed Romazvhir, Hope asked that she be granted a new name to complete her metamorphosis into a monster. Xesirit was born when Romazvhir drew his last breath. Xesirit now roams on her own, killing and devouring as much as she pleases, far away from her origins and morality. There is little left to remind her of who she once was.

While Sebastien the false prophet was worshiped blindly by his subjects, the world had no idea that a true one had been roaming about since before the beginning of the war. Jerry Redmond has spent his entire life in his home nation, Canada, also ravaged by war and left with little more than ghost towns and refuge camps. Immune to the powers of both monsters and devils, Jerry always had the knowledge of the before, now and after of the world and the people inhabiting it. This drove him to seek solitude, dreaming of a simple, normal life he will never have. He is the only one who knows if the red skies will ever clear.

Jerry Remond and Teagan's first daughter, was a bit of a (very fortunate) accident. Her mother was terrified that she might be born a monster hybrid until it became obvious that Jerry's magical godmode-y genes did something to completely neutralize it. Once they decided sufficient years had passed to figure that out, she became Cooper and Mattie's older sister. Alex doesn't mind wandering into the big cities, has her mother's bright and clever head and her father's outlook on life. Makes friends pretty easily, doesn't relate all that much to her brothers.

Eddie was Jack Gibson's only companion and partner for many years during the monster invasion, self-taught in the matters of handling a gun and fighting for his (and Jack's) life. An ambushed encounter with a monster whispered madness into his mind, however, and he returned to Jack a completely different man. The damage done to his mind was irreversible and he was convinced Jack was a monster as well, so attacked and left him behind to die. Eddie's whereabouts and unknown and he is presumed to be dead.

He eventually became a valued member of the community, infecting their minds with false knowledge through his translations of Sebastien's prophecies and satisfying his own hunger with worthy sacrifices.
