Great day

May 20, 2003 00:56

So I woke up at 7:20am this morning without an alarm or anything. The sun was out and I was in a great mood. The first thing I did was struggle to find my glasses so I could proceed to find my contact lens case. When suddenly, I stumbled across my watch that I thought I lost. It was just lying on top of my duffel bag and I almost shrieked in joy. I was pretty upset when I lost it yesterday because it held a lot of sentimental value. So I was happy. Then, I decided to check my email so I turned on my computer and what do you know, the cd rom drive is working again. It broke out of the blue yesterday (yet another reason I was down) and I tried to email compaq support, but they couldn't help much. I sent them a thank-you note anyway.
Since I was in such a great mood, I decided to put on my running shoes and go for a jog in the Crum. It was a bit chilly but I warmed up after half an hour of exercise. Yay, this was going to be good day, I knew it already.
It was actually a very hectic day: I found out that the school assigned me two rooms by accident so I was in the wrong room and I had to move out. I had told Aude she can stay with me because I had extra space (until tomorrow when she leaves for Paris), but it turns out that I am now in a double with a roommate. I haven't met her yet, but I have had a chance to see her luggage many times today (it's in the room without the owner). But it was a bit chaotic because Aude had her stuff in there too and so when my roommate arrived, she panicked and left a bunch of messages around the room, saying "this room is reserved for alumni weekend, please remove your belongings" and "don't touch" so I called the Alumni Office and straightened things out, and everything is fine now. Aude is staying with Victoria, but she's leaving her stuff in my room until tomorrow since Parrish is closer to the shuttle.
I went to Beardsley around 11:00am to 4:00pm to work on inserting data into Excel. That was a bit painful; it's going to be a longer process than I anticipated.
Around 6:30, Aude and I were bored, sitting in the field house after returning a key. We had tried to call Victoria many times throughout the day without any success. I asked her what she wanted to do and she asked, "Do you want to go to Philly? I really want bubble tea." Okay! So we go to the train station and what luck, a train is due in five minutes. Off to Philly we went for some bubble tea. When suddenly, I realize I skipped breakfast and lunch. . .oops. I was afraid this might happen. Surprisingly, I was never got hungry the entire day so I didn't realize I hadn't eaten for a while. So we decided to have dinner in Chinatown (a Vegetarian restaurant- we had Sweet and Sour Pork and Lychee Duck- both not real meat, of course) and then we went to Serendipity where she got some bubble tea for her boyfriend. Hopefully, it'll last the plane ride. . iffy.
Once back, we called Victoria again and found out she was feeling ill so she was at the hospital all day. But she seems to be feeling much better now. We visited her and watched Spirited Away in her room. Ah, the sweet memories flooded back from the first time watching that movie. sniffle. It seems like such a long time ago.
