I feel awful but I can't write a decent entry because they charge a bunch for internet usage and I can't afford it. So I just wanted to say that Regina and I are here safe and sound, deleting away at our swatmail. And I had a bunch of free time because Orientation was delayed due to the weather in Newark which delayed the Group Flight. So some people and I went to see the House of Parliament and explore the neighborhood around the Thames River. We get to go see a play tonight, which is exciting. And the program provides us with vouchers for the doubledecker buses and a cruise on the Thames. It's quite a beautiful city and I'm really excited to be here.
Unfortunately, most people equate social life with drinking at pubs. And I would be fine with going to these pubs (been to two- one each night I've been here) but people smoke like crazy here and I can't stand the smoke. I held my nose for so long and breathed through my mouth that my throat started hurting a lot and I couldn't eat anything for a while. so yeah, not hanging out in pubs if I can help it. But the past two nights, I wanted to explore places with people but I can't just say, "I'm going to wait alone.. outside in the dark looking like a lost tourist." I don't think so. So I endured the smoke, but hopefully I can find some people who don't drink and smoke daily to hang out. I like being in London but miss Swatties too. Okay, I will have to go. Take care. Time's up.
