So, can we discuss Automatisch/Automatic? :D
- I like the German lyrics far better than the English. That's nothing new.
- I like the music, and I hope that MTV aren't kidding when they say there'll be epic guitar parts, but it's far lighter and poppy-er than I had expected. A little more rock wouldn't have hurt, imo. It's a weirdly fitting song for the 'Humanoid' theme though...I could see this being used in a very colorful, very futuristic, partly-animated movie like Speedracer.
- Still, I am confused at the discrepancy between the upbeat music and the message of the lyrics. What are the boys telling us with this, I wonder? Or is it that Bill is wrapping something that's important to him into the nice, marketable package of poppy electronica that the producers suggested? Hmm.
- Is it just me or is this not a song about romance at all, but instead Bill being rather tongue-in-cheek, Goldene Kamera style, about all that's being thrown at them in the way of accusations? As such, is it an apt commentary for the first single of the third album, which exemplifies the changes the band has gone through? Is my wish for meaningful lyrics making me overinterpret as usual? *g*
