I cheated a little, almost half my list is filled with books I read previously. I had wanted to do otherwise for 2006, but it would not work because eh, I re-read most of my books annually lol

I think 'Dance Dance Dance' was a strange book, but I agree that he writes good stuff (thanks to translator as well). I don't really understand it, but I like it somehow, strange innit? I remember you recommending me Norwegian Wood, would be getting that the next Kinokuniya sale :P

I like Jonathan Safran Foer's 'Everything is Illuminated', really quite recommend it. A little quirky, very funny and with its moments. I'm probably going on to this guy's other book but not too soon I guess, a smaller print of the book is not released yet.

-Family--Ba Jin (love it love it love it!)
-Norwegian Wood--Haruki Murakami
-Fast Food Nation--Eric Schlosser
-The Battle for God--Karen Armstrong
-Nickel and Dimed--Barbara Ehrenreich (check her books out, she had another book, "Global Woman" on sex trade and maids, basically women in the third world countries.)
-The World is Flat--Thomas Friedman

these are just some of the 12 books i read last year. lol. i still can't believe you read close to 40. impressive! what are some of the books you enjoyed? please list out some of your favorite reads!
