i scheduled archie's teeth appointment finally. i've been sort of avoiding it/putting it off because i'm really nervous about his recovery and irrationally afraid he is going to die.
next week i'm taking him to annapolis. i decided not to take him to the place in lewes delaware because the reviews for that place basically said you'd pay a shit ton of money for bad service and misdiagnosis/unnecessary procedures. the place in annapolis specializes in oral surgery for animals and the woman on the phone was extremely friendly and helpful and made me feel much better about everything.
anyway i take him in the morning (have to be there at 8:45 am...which means i have to leave my house at like 6:30 am yikes) and they take a look at his teeth and see what needs to be done, and then he goes to surgery in the afternoon. if they have to remove ALL of his teeth (worst case scenario) it's going to cost between $2,000-$2,300, which fucking sucks but at least he will be a happy healthy lil man afterwards. and i will only MAYBE have to borrow $300 from my mom which i can pay back when i get my tax return.
i'm nervous about recovery like i said, but the woman on the phone told me that they will give me pain med patches to put on archie after surgery, so i wont have to touch his sensitive mouth. poor little angel :( i might just take the next day off work to be home with him. hes such a little momma's boy, i dont want to leave him home alone.
