in my human resources class we were learning about all the anti-discrimination rights and law protecting workers. eventually we touched on maternity leave. my professor was going over its implications toward a company.
if you are gone for three months the business is going to need to
(a) replace you
(b) learn to operate without you.
life goes on.
you become obsolete.

now apply that to almost any situation.

my mental stability is teetering on the cusp of ... i don't even know.
NATO conference reminded me of how i dread to smooze. oh my lordy. the fake smiles, clammy palms, and generic list of questions: oh so what country are yo representing? that's nice. what's your major? how interesting! what school do you go to? oh, i've heard that's a great place. Can i go shoot myself now? thanks.

forced mingling. All smiles, no sincerity.

diplomacy, language. motion to speak? let's take a week to set the agenda -ROAR-
a lot of people weren't in character. some were just fighting to be heard, over enthusiastic. excuse me. you are canada. SIT DOWN! and wow, your country would NEVER advocate that. a lot of people were confused as to what was within our jurisdiction. political affairs committee CANNOT deploy troops. ugggggh... definitely something everyone should have known before arriving in Washington -shrug-

stressful week. i think i'm just being angry/ spiteful. blarg. never ending papers and tests.

Ok, so i wrote that a while back. and i was going to delete it but i decided to take advantage of the new 'save draft' feature. :D
it was just a phase. lasted about a week. now i'm all better. i think i'm going through puberty like 5 years late after everyone else. moodswings :p

NYC was off the hook (and i AM the ghetto ;) KIKI SEND YOUR PHOTOS, i need to do the same
we were drawn behind countless walls into crowded closets, seduced by promises of "pradaa? prada? gucci? coach! coach!" shady chinese people whispering in broken english. all part of the experience
went to the nyu library. the architecture is crazy in a really dark, somewhat disturbing way. the building is like something out of a nightmare. cool. but a little creepy? unnerving? i dont' know.

My birthday was fun

<3 <3<3 sloth <3<3<3 THANK YOU FOR DRIVING SO MANY HOURS to come here <3<3<3
i <3 you!!!!!! btw, i've been eating an average of 2 oranges a day :d

v for vendetta was mediocre. i liked the plot and it wasn't a bad movie. it's hard to pinpoint what was missing. perhaps the movie was too ambitious and should have focused more narrowly on a couple of stories? the love story wasn't developed well. hmmm it was good to watch, but when the movie ended i was left feeling empty. i dont' know. meh. in any case it was a good time :) and the dialogue was fun :D
but i'll still reach for Garden State when i'm in the mood for romance, and 1984 for lessons on oppressive gov.

dinner = :D
crazy spanish people kept staring at my sloth. she's just too sexy ;)

happy belated birthday vinci!

this entry is getting too long. so, until next time!
