To much happening and not enough time to do it. I finished my last tri race on the 22, visited and had dinner w/ over 12 people, had meetings galore up in DC and somehow managed to get my apartment squeezed into a van and semi-presentable. I think my brain finally gave out yesterday. I ended up sleeping a full 16 hours.
The tri was another new and fun 2 hour workout. It was a very hilly area and the running section was a muddy hiking trail so as much as the conditions were unexpected I'm so proud of myself that I finished! I had dad's voice in the back of my head the entire time going "DON'T RUN DOWN THE HILL!" As soon as I gain a bit of confidence that I was able to finish several and should finish this one faster, I get hit with something new. At least the park we were all running through was pretty and the sun didn't hit too hard that day.
Aside from the individual dinners I went to I was able to throw a dinner for my neighbors. I have living witnesses that can confirm I didn't poison everyone. It was a lovely evening and hopefully everyone had a good time. Thanks to Darriel for maintaining the conversation, bright conversation is not one of my talents.
Sonja met us for one last hurahh at Kings Dominion on Friday which was a real blast. The water park was fun, not as impressive a wave pool as Six flags but the slides were fun and the lazy river was indeed lazy. We did have a thunder shower come through, but it passed quickly and were able to commence leaving Darriel to watch our stuff as we forced our father to try out different roller coasters. And while we all got some sun, Darriel got the worst of it- I'm sorry!
We got the van mostly packed on Friday night and Saturday was spent in DC for the most part. I need to go to a full time meeting and I needed to hand in my Visa Application for which I needed passport photos. I have to say, the purchasing of those photos was frustration on a scale that I haven't experienced in quite a while. We went to four different CVSs, two Wal-marts and two Riteaids before we were able to find one with a working photo department. Argh!
The night following the drive the next day exist in my memory as one big blur. Which is probably a good thing because driving stories are pretty boring. Mishka has already escaped the camp once. Luckily she's smart enough to come back when she's hungry. The unpacking of the van commenced this afternoon but it'll take me a while to finish.
That's all I have to really report for now.
