Zack can't sleep in a normal bed. Well, he can, but the results aren't pleasant, for him or the unfortunate souls who have to clean his linens. It's a simple matter of biology really. He oozes. Constantly.
But his lovers, mortals that they be, didn't evolve to live in water, so they need to sleep in warm dry beds, lest they wake with cricks in their necks or drown. Even Vincent, as strong as he is, isn't meant for aquatic nocturnia. So they curl up together, the five of them, and sleep in a bed the size of a small room on sheets of the finest cotton and silk, with down pillows and quilted comforters, and he sleeps in a pool built into the floor.
It's a decent arrangement for the most part, and if he misses the feeling of them in his arms, he only has to wait until the next sunrise. It's for this reason he hates winter and longs for the heat of summer. He can't help biology.
