After a long break...

It's definitely been awhile since I've posted. Things just keep piling up, and my energy level is waning. I had my ultrasound this Friday, and its definitely a boy. Everything was normal except that one of his kidney's measured above average. the kidney thing is very common and often resolves itself. While I don't wish the kind of worry we've had on anyone else, the one cool thing is that we'll have had 5 ultrasounds by the end of this pregnancy, whereas most people only have 1 or 2. You will probably also have additional ultrasounds to see if the kidney problem has resolved itself. They'll probably send you to a maternal/fetal specialist for a more detailed ultrasound first.

I'm glad the sweet dog has somewhere to stay temporarily. Ian said yesterday we have to get our own house so we can take in all the stray cats we have room for.

Babies are actually used to a lot of noise in the womb...your bowel sounds, the loud swishing of the blood through the placenta, the muffled sounds of the outside world. The "experts" actually suggest having some white noise going on most of the time, because it's comforting to newborns.

Unfortunately, lotion doesn't prevent stretch marks. It's really all genetics. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because my mom never got any, and I don't have any yet. A lot of times they pop up right at the end though. I use Bert's Bees Mama Bee Cream, and it really helps with the itch.
