Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to book a flight to Portland, Oregon for two weeks from now to see my friend Gerard in his first professional acting gig - Betrayal (Pinter). Complete whim. And I'm elated because THIS is the exact kind of thing I am always telling myself I want to do. Go places! See things! Don't plan too far in advance, don't worry too much... Make a quick plan and go somewhere -- just have fun!
I'm pretty souped about this adventure - I'll leave Friday afternoon and arrive Friday night, coming back Monday. It was crazy cheap, too -- $250 round trip (BLESS YOU, Southwest Airlines, bless you).
