I had this dream last night, wherein Tim Gunn - fabulous mentor to the Designer Hopefuls on Project Runway, asked me to go with him to Oregon to recruit fashion forward people. He really wanted my help because of my background in theatre and dealing with people (you know, me and TIm -- we're such great friends).
So I had to leave this vacation home I was staying it, but it was time to go anyway, because the murder mystery had really caused an unpleasant scene and the whole vacay ambience was totally gone. So I packed a bag, made sure to check it because it contained all my liquids. And then I arrived in Oregon, and Tim and I rented a car. And we were driving through the state and we decided our first stop should be this grocery store.
So we stop, and Tim runs off to take care of some things. So I hang out on a bench near the bakery aisle. And David Hasselhoff joins me, and he's showing off his new GPS. I'm explaining to him why Tim and I are in his domain (though I'm really unclear as to why a bakery is the Hoff's domain), and he thinks it's weird. He doesn't get it. He makes some bizarre analogy about how asking me to go on this mission and help plan some party for the end of the project is like him being asked to go to space or something equally outlandish and unheard of. And so I calmly explain that actually I do have some credentials that make this endeavor worthwhile... and the Hoff doesn't really care... He's just loving his new GPS, look how sleek and small - because he's looking at some microscopic attachment. And I'm looking at the back, which is like a freakin widescreen television; so I tell him he'll; probably have an easier time telling where to go if he looks at the back. He doesn't listen. So I wander away from Hasselhoff.
Next thing I know, I'm cruising Suburban Oregon (for the record, I've never been to Oregon in real life)... I may have ended up visiting Charlotte in Santa Barbara, on a break from my fashion recruiting.
It was a weird and somehow delightfully amusing dream.
