April 8 - NYC - A Mac & Hill Reunion!

No that's not a show that you may have once watched - that's me and Jenny! Who I [finally] caught up with tonight. April 8 is the day Tre and I are going to see Wicked on Broadway (matinee), then we're going out afterwards in the city.

Great glorious times shall be had and all are welcome to attend. Lord knows what we'll do... suggestions welcome.

I just read "Alibi for an Actress" by Gillian B. Farrell. Not especially well-written, but I'm obsessed with the concept. This strugging/out-of work actress finds her part-time bill paying work as a private investigator. OBSESSSED! Why isn't this my life? I would adore such work. People are so interesting.

Also, if you've never seen it, "Cool Hand Luke" is amazing. Paul Newman actually is good... it's not just hype. And the movie - so good. So so so good. Such a wonderful story, such brilliant characters, dialogue, setting, all of it. Loved it. Conversely, "Three Kings" - lame, gratuitous, indulgent, one-note portrayal of American soldiers in the Gulf War. The plot was trite, the characters were bland and obnoxiously ignorant (or blindly idealistic about their position in the world), the movie was dumb; although a special feature on the disc did make life worth living: An Intimate Look at the Acting Process with Ice Cube. Seriously. Brilliant. Includes such great lines as: "Get this shot right here [shows Ice Cube framing his face with his hands] -- that's all you need to sell your fucking movie." Amazing. I love Ice Cube. I like to think he was being comical and ironic. In fact, he was probably dead serious. either way - amazing.
