Rob's been through his third chemo. He's tired, but doing okay, but then the buffering drugs are about to run out, so he expects he'll feel worse in the morning ( Read more... )

I'm up for going out on Friday night. We've had roofers, plasterers, and painters trampling inside and outside the house for over a week. It would be nice to get away for a few hours.

Me! I wish. :(

Um, I'll be with you in spirit?

(Got your email and, no worries. Whenever you have the time/energy to write. Flu shots make me feel crappy and I can only imagine how much rougher the shingles vaccine must be.)

Btw, remind me - how many chemo treatments were they estimating for Rob? Are you at the halfway point yet?

Not tonight, urgh.

Dunno if you've seen my latest post, but...

tonight, Rob's dragging (out of prednisone), I have a killer headache, and Delia has mono. Third year in a row. Life just sucks in our household right now. I will try to reply in full a little later, but for now, am just falling into bed.

I saw the post about Delia. Argh! It absolutely sucks when everyone feels lousy.

Does anyone need a book or something, to read while recuperating?

(Sorry, last comment which I erased was mis-threaded).

You've already been so generous. Books are always welcome, but not new ones! But you have any in your own collection you no longer want, send 'email along. Thanks! Rob likes mysteries and political thrillers. I've been on a binge of reading historical romances. Two books I intend to get (but don't buy them new! Only get them if you have a friend who's finished with them) are Longbourn (Pride and Prejudice from the servants' point of view) and Jane Austen's England.

I do already have The Cuckoo's Calling though I haven't read it yet.

Delia's not much for reading anything right now, poor thing.

I wish I lived in your area, because I would love to take you out/keep you company ... I love your writing, I've been reading your blog for years, and I think you're a model of grace, resilience, and eloquence. Alas, I am some hundred miles away. But you have all my best wishes and admiration, for whatever that is worth ....

Thank you. I would have been glad of the opportunity to make a new friend if we lived closer.

I can't go out with you Friday night (because of geography), but maybe this ocelot kitten will help:
