Excelsior Jimmy died, his obit. was in today's Star Tribune: http://www.startribune.com/466/story/1465889.html

I remember in middle school being afraid of Mr. Jimmy. We would see him sitting outside the Excelso-Bakery or see him in Bacon Drug (yes it was still around then) and we thought he was crazy. There were a million stories about him floating around, most were made up by 8th graders with over-active imaginations. When I was in high school, Mr. Jimmy  and our choir shared the stage for the town tree-lighting ceremony at Christmas. As an adult, I got to talk with Jimmy when we waited in line at the Post Office togther or we smiled and said hello as we past on the sidewalk. Jimmy's house is being preserved as a local landmark and today, Excelsior, that little town on Lake Minnetonka is short one special resident.
