The Colour White

Nov 24, 2004 22:59

Why is the colour white so cold. Like icy fingers it steals the colour from ur very soul. It is if all the colour and laughter is sucked out of anything that is around the colour white. A colourful kalidoscope vortex of nothing. What is left once the colour is gone? Are we complete? can the world exist in only black and white. Photographs that are ( Read more... )

Wow that's deep, and so true. It really got me thinking. Even though I'm kinda tired and didn't understand every single bit, the parts I got really hit me. I too am self-satisfied and independant and assured, but just because we love ourselves so much and have found places in the world, we still feel we are lacking. It's human emotion; we lack love. Without the love of another our life is incomplete. To be completely satisfied with love we need to be who we are as well as have the perfect love. But who can define the perfect love anyway? We'll be lost forever the way I see it. I will not settle, and no one else should, and if nobody settled we'd all be single. It's very rare that the true love is really the true love and not just a love that happens to be true.

Boredom is Colourless, and vice versa anonymous December 2 2004, 14:39:12 UTC
I love philosophical moments such as these, because they tend to get your mind active, and then you get exicted and agitated and have to do something (like the run around Fort Henry I should be BEGINNING in the dark right now). Perhaps in the endless shuffle between school and studying and work, you're feeling an acute boredom and a touch (if not more) of loneliness.

I know I am. Classes are great but my mind has been truly "activated" only a few times in four months! I'm a procrastinator and between avoiding assignments, and living with the same people (though they're awesome people) ALL THE TIME, I've settled into a colourless world where the Glorious Grind means all. Your sole goal in life is to get through this black-and-white day and go to sleep.

A slightly pragmatic, if not really philiosphical, response.

White... anonymous December 13 2004, 18:52:56 UTC
Ah... the colour white. Beautiful white. The only thing left when everything else is gone. Purity? Or emptiness? The whitewashed souls of hypocrites? White is the opposite of black which is the absence of all colour. Does this mean white is every colour or just a different type of absent colour? That cold white, with its absence of caring or feeling, its aloofness, that is what I strive for in the pit of my apathetic, dark mind. What I would give to experiance everything that white represents... more so when all is covered in black.
That should make up for the lack of philisophy-ness from RMC lol Mr. "Anonymous" .... you're not fooling anybody... I think >_<

ps: Mel! Buy a colour printer! That should help!

Oh no, a MYSTERY!!!

WHO could possibly be the Mysterious Hopefully-In-RMC-Soon Buddy? Of course I know, and it's good to hear from you, but for the entertainment of the masses who flock to read this message board frequently in their lives, we shall remain anonymous.

It is fitting that you should discuss black, in the "apathetic, dark mind." It has been your favourite colour as long as I can remember. So deep and bottomless...like a pit of chaos that grips at the soul (Ultra-BS Point!).

Hey man, good luck, and keep in contact, I have a few tips to help you. Hope to see you next year!

Yr RMC Buddy (1 exam left to go!!)

BTW L-Man, I got yar eh-mail. I'm going to respond shortly...!

(And Mel must be thinking, how did My Life turn into a message board between old friends?!)

lol. Weeeeeell..... Mel, you don't have to rub in the whole "superior being" thing. Yes, I know I'm still in high school and have no life:( but you could be more kind about it.... I would love to go to Queen's where I can mingle with intellectuals but it appears that my lot rests in RMC, or failing that, a lowly college. >_< And my comment was totaly on subject! It's those blasted RMCers that can't focus and stay on course! :P But now I shall flee from the dread "LOCK JAW" and attempt to complete a late essay.

I'm impressed! anonymous January 29 2005, 03:15:33 UTC
Perhaps white only seems cold because unlike black or the other shades residing in the wide and varied spectrum of colour, white does not hide our flaws. It shows them clearly, if not even pointing them out in an amplifide manor. Human nature is to hide our shame, mirror what we think our lives should be. White is bleak and nothing, a void that conceals nothing. Isn't that the scariest thing of all? To be transparent for all to see? Our insecurities, our indescretions, the webs of lies we weave to live up to others expectations all out in the open. Just maybe, happiness is found in accepting what could be seen up against the white and no longer trying to hide it all. True love comes from that very thing. It may be rare as Tina wrote, but it comes from another seeing all there is to see and loving you just the same. Even up against the un-flattering white ( ... )
