That's going to be a long drive
Was talking with Nate this morning about Tobias' upcoming wedding in September. He asked how long of a drive it was to get there so I got on Google maps. I knew it was going to be a long drive. When Tobias and Meghan went back from visiting for Nate's wedding they were estimating close to 18 hours. Fortunately the wedding location is a little closer than where they live. Right now without frequent stops the trip should take almost 16 hours. When you factor in having to drive with a pre-schooler the trip gets several hours longer.
I did a quick look for flights and (if I booked today) for the three of us it would cost close to $1000, not including car rental and hotel. In some ways the money would be worth it, but I don't know if we can realistically afford it.
Of course something else that has to be taken into account is the fact that Gavin will have started voluntary pre-kindergarten by then and I'm not sure what the attendance policy is. I should know that when I go to the parent conference later this month.
Hopefully we'll figure something out as the wedding gets closer.
