Let's get together

Alumnae Weekend this year is April 8 - 11.

Currently, the PEG staff is not planning on doing any event for the 25th Anniversary. I am not trying to change their plans, but rather to create the type of event we all said we wished happened 5 years ago. I am planning a PEG gathering to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of PEG on the afternoon or evening of the 10th.

I know many of you have mixed feelings about the program, especially about various staff members and administrative decisions of questionable wisdom. I know I have those feelings, but I still think PEG, specifically the community of current and former PEGs, is something worth celebrating - especially in an informal environment that works for us. The last anniversary gathering sparked a lot of discussion about what kind of get together would really work for us, so here is my proposal:

The current plan is to find a space, off campus in Staunton, that can accommodate 50-75 people easily. We'll have food, drink, and room to mingle or sit. I plan to keep the space open for about 4 hours so people can come and go to other, more structured events. I also plan to invite current students. I don't plan to require any financial contribution from students, but I may need to ask for assistance from fellow former PEGs. If I do ask, rest assured I won't turn anyone away for inability to pay.

I'm currently working with Dori Stiefel, the president of the alumnae organization (and former PEG), and the PEG staff, so it may be that I can get assistance or support for this unofficial gathering. Regardless, I would love to see you there, and to get your feedback on my plan.
