Its official. Office is closed for technical staff till Tuesday (2nd August).
Past affairs:
Tuesday was spent sleeping in NCST bus (stuck at Chembur) by me. So I was not aware of juhu plight till wednesday evening. Wednesday evening
devendra_sm briefed me about flooding at Juhu.
_samurai_jack described it all to me, later that night. Half of the machines (including routers) in the Server room got submerged in water. Water entered library too. Call it good luck or bad luck, people who were stuck in NCST buses (leaving for Kurla and Bandra), walked back to Juhu office after it could not move ahead in Gulmohar lane. It was for the collective efforts of all my colleagues that library books could be saved that night. They also tried save more than half a dozen servers by lifting them on shoulders to first floor.
Current state:
Some of the machines have been made up for emergency situation by connecting them to Raw power supply. Rest will have to wait for UPS to recover (or get replaced). Network is worst affected due to non-availability of routers and name servers. Sofa, chairs are still being dried.
